Recycled Denim

My nephews' christmas gift is done (pictured above)
It's the first of many handmade christmas gifts I need to achieve before December 25. He apparently wants a corner in his bedroom full of big pillows where he can just flop down and read (so his Mum tells me). So this is what I have come up with. A huge cushion - 80cm x 80cm - made from recycled denim jeans and skirts, and a bit of chenille and cotton fabrics thrown in to break it up a bit. I am pretty happy with the result - hope he is too !

Some other ideas for designs using recycled denims
this one is made from waistbands
necklace using denim and lace So don't throw out those old jeans - recycle

Post your eva mei & me pics on my blog

I would love to see some photos of your kids wearing my clothes. It would give me a real buzz. For those of you who have purchased an eva mei & me garment - I would love you to email me a picture of your little princess or prince (yes I have made one or two boys things) wearing it. You do not need to show their face if you prefer not to, it could be covered with a big hat, an umbrella, they can be facing away from the camera, or maybe a silk fan or a mask would do the job. All you have to do is email your picture to karynkong01@optusnet.com.au (after my name it is a ZERO and a ONE, not the letter O) - and I will post them as they come in. If it's one of my owls or a cushion you could take a picture of where it now lives, I would love to see them too. I have just received my first photo today from a follower - and this is what gave me the idea. She had bought two owls as a custom order and they are now living on her bed. It was so thoughtful of her to send this photo and it made my day. I would love to see as many pics as possible so come on, get out the cameras and email me.

My version of the Amy Butler pinwheel

This is something I had wanted to try for quite some time. The pinwheel cushion. They look absolutely gorgeous using Amy Butler fabrics but I decided to try one out in some old retro/vintage fabrics just to see how it would look. At first I wasn't sure, but now I have finished it with the antique purple covered button I have actually grown quite attached to it - what do you think ????

Pretty Pillows

I always have a million ideas running through my head and never know which one to tackle first. My daughter has had a few birthday parties to go to recently so pillows for a little girls bed seemed like a good idea for some gifts. So here they are.
