Thank God its Friday

Another weekend is upon us - the weeks are flying by so fast. I have been sewing madly still, in a much cleaner and neater room which is pretty nice. Today I finished Fletcher, my handsome gentlemanly owl. Also I have started a pair of groovy green pants made from t-shirt fabric, they are looking pretty good so far. I just wanted to share my first Camellia of the season, it was absolutley gorgeous when I picked it a few days ago. Also I have a picture to show of the "thank you" card my sons prep class did for me. I made a heap of curtains for their classroom so this is what I got in return - it's laminated and I am going to mount in on the wall in my new sewing room.

New listings on Madeit.com.au

My new scarves have hit my shop today - I am very happy with them. Great little winter accessory for the kids this winter. Also my poncho is finished and listed for sale. The sewing room is looking much better, though we have now decided to swap rooms with the guest room so looks like I will be packing it all up and doing it all over again - oh well, at least it will be right next to my office so I can pop from sewing machine to computer with about 5 or 6 steps. Happy crafting !!!!!!

Attacking the sewing room

I kind of attacked my sewing room today. My poor Mum has been sleeping in there for 3 weeks with piles of fabric all around her. This is actually not my fault, its her fault - as she gives me most of the fabric. It was in desperate need of a makeover and a tidy up so I am half way through. I will post some before and after pictures when I have finished. I am excited to say I now have one formal follower of my blog - Jacki - thanks heaps. I have to say I have also just read Jacki's blog for the first time late last night - it looks fantastic. When I have some more time and computer skills I will do a link to it, but her address is something like monkeemoomoo.blogspot.com - check it out, it's fantastic. Back later !!!!!

Two new owls and a pair of Chenille pants

I have two new girls in the shop, Olga and Claudia. They were joined by a gorgeous pair of cream and pink chenille pants but they didn't last long as my crafty friend Jacki snapped them up today for her daughter. I have also made a cute little red fleece scarf and a red fleece poncho - need to get some velcro to finish this off though before I can photograph it for the shop. It's very late, need some sleep. Will get back and finish this maybe tomorrow. Ciao for now !

Barney has flown the coop

Another owl has departed Buderim on route to Adelaide. Barney has been purchased by a lady in Adelaide for her new baby that is due to be born any moment now. My owls are proving to be quite popular, Esther has been purchased by my sister-in-law Amanda, so she will travel to Kerang Victoria on board my parents suzuki very soon. I enjoy making the owls, but I must get on to my next project which will probably be winter pinafores for girls or baby shoes made from fabric. Stay tuned to see which wins out.

Another Lola Skirt

This time it's a fuschia pink and black Lola Skirt - Lucy looks so gorgeous in this. I will have to make her one for winter. The next one I think will be from a black, red and white jacket that Mum got for me. It will either be a skirt or maybe even a pinafore. I think either would look great.

The LOLA skirt

The LOLA Skirt is my latest creation. It is my own design, created from an old ladies jacket mum got me from St. Vincents. It is in an as new condition, looks like it's never been worn. Should have photographed the jacket before I cut it up - a before and after shot would have been good. Will try to remember to do that next time.

Ollie the Owl plus Vintage Chenille Pants !!!

Ollie the owl and my funky chenille pants are two of my latest creations added to my shop on Madeit.com.au. I had lots of fun making the owl out of some repurposed mens business shirts, they are great for soft toys. I think he turned out quite okay. Also I love the little pants from vintage chenille bedspreads. These would be great for adults to pop over a bikini when the sun starts to fade. Must make myself some one day (not sure about the bikini though!)

Happy Birthday to Me !

My husband baked me a cake for my birthday - he is so creative. Whilst I was sewing in my sewing room he came in and taked to me and without me noticing he stole some of my yo-yo's. This is what he used them for. The cake looked great and tasted so good too, inside was jam and fresh cream and the soft pink icing had white chocolate in it so it was yum yum !!!!! What husband bakes a cake for his wife and makes it so fantastic ????? MINE !!!!! Thank you darling.
