Softie Swap is complete and my doll has a name

Well here they are - Amy on the left and Olivander on the right - the results of the recent Clip Cafe Softie Swap. I made the owl for my softie swap partner Allie - and she made Miss Amy for me. I think I got the better deal.
I took a quick pic of them together before I sent Olivander off on his flight to Victoria to his new home where I am sure he will be happy. I have just decided on the name Amy - earlier today the name Amy was floating around in my head. Then I received an email from Allie to tell me that her parcel had arrived, and that her daughter AMY liked the little flower that I popped on his butt. So there it is, Amy is the name for my beautiful new doll. The softie swap has been lots of fun, it's so lovely to get a complete surprise in the mail. I'm looking forward to the next one. But in the meantime I think I need to get some practice in on softies.....

Post your eva mei & me pics on my blog

I would love to see some photos of your kids wearing my clothes. It would give me a real buzz. For those of you who have purchased an eva mei & me garment - I would love you to email me a picture of your little princess or prince (yes I have made one or two boys things) wearing it. You do not need to show their face if you prefer not to, it could be covered with a big hat, an umbrella, they can be facing away from the camera, or maybe a silk fan or a mask would do the job. All you have to do is email your picture to karynkong01@optusnet.com.au (after my name it is a ZERO and a ONE, not the letter O) - and I will post them as they come in. If it's one of my owls or a cushion you could take a picture of where it now lives, I would love to see them too. I have just received my first photo today from a follower - and this is what gave me the idea. She had bought two owls as a custom order and they are now living on her bed. It was so thoughtful of her to send this photo and it made my day. I would love to see as many pics as possible so come on, get out the cameras and email me.

Barney has flown the coop

Another owl has departed Buderim on route to Adelaide. Barney has been purchased by a lady in Adelaide for her new baby that is due to be born any moment now. My owls are proving to be quite popular, Esther has been purchased by my sister-in-law Amanda, so she will travel to Kerang Victoria on board my parents suzuki very soon. I enjoy making the owls, but I must get on to my next project which will probably be winter pinafores for girls or baby shoes made from fabric. Stay tuned to see which wins out.

Ollie the Owl plus Vintage Chenille Pants !!!

Ollie the owl and my funky chenille pants are two of my latest creations added to my shop on Madeit.com.au. I had lots of fun making the owl out of some repurposed mens business shirts, they are great for soft toys. I think he turned out quite okay. Also I love the little pants from vintage chenille bedspreads. These would be great for adults to pop over a bikini when the sun starts to fade. Must make myself some one day (not sure about the bikini though!)
